What is it about Democrats that make them want to destroy everything they touch? I mean you have Detroit, NYCity, the state of California, and now Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. This week several hundred “teenagers” (i.e., blacks) attacked the city’s upscale Magnificent Mile last weekend.
Fights broke out throughout the area. An old lady was knocked down. A tourist was battered and pushed under a horse carriage. A mo estimated at 300-400 laid siege to Water Tower Place at the heart of the MM. The savages then attacked a Red Line station, “jumping turnstiles and beating on the kiosk.”
Fortunately, only four people were reported injured. Unfortunately, only two were arrested, one of them for throwing an unknown liquid substance in a police officer’s face.
The end result of indoctrination in government schools and mass media that teaches “urban youths” that American society is racist, corrupt, unfair, and unworthy of compliance is the crumbling of civil order. When a substantial group of young males (the segment of society most prone to acting out with violence) think they have no stake in the continuation of existing social and property relations, they are able to impose anarch in local areas. When enough people think and feel this way, the forces of order — police, and in extremis the National Guard — can be overwhelmed and power less to stop the disorder. Thomas Lifson
He touches on another factor:
Meanwhile, Water Tower Place is dealing with its own issues regarding “youths” last month, issuing an abject apology for “racially profiling” a ground of young African-American males who were behaving well.
Politically correct groveling encourages mayhem by signaling weakness and exacerbating a sense of entitlement. But the most prominent cause of this escalating chaos is the welfare state, which breeds dysfunctional people like farm animals for their votes.
Instead of getting upset for being profiled perhaps these people should consider why that is happening and instead of demanding apologizes from those who profiled incorrectly start thinking about why this is happening and do something about that.
Moving on to Seattle, another bastion of liberal think;
Homelessness is out of control in Seattle. One reason is a shortage of housing. This in turn maybe exacerbated by few people wanting to be a landlord in a city run by socialist.
A landlord group has sued the city oay. It would be a shame to come so close to a wold where no one has to take responsibility for their own behavior, but then turn back one a f Seattle over an ordinance passed in August that prohibits them from making rental decisions based on a tenant’s criminal background. The complaint alleges the city has violated property owners’ due process and free speech rights.
It also violates their property rights and they might of free association. Landlords take a big risk every time they accept a new tenant. The wrong tenant can lead to major problems, even bankruptcy. If you want to invest in property and rent it, don’t do it in Seattle, or any other city run by left-wing authoritarians.
My question is this. How many of these legislators would be willing to live in the same building with a known thief, or child molester, or worse, another Democratic legislator.
